    Segment

The AI builds your virtual patient: hard tissue, soft tissue, one fused model.

    Runtime 47s
  3. Step 3

    Plan

Place the implant on the model. The guide designs itself around your plan.

    Turnaround today
  4. Step 4

01 — The conventional way

How many CBCT slices can a human brain comprehend at once to reconstruct anatomy in their head? Three.

And how many slices does an average CBCT have? 650. Add in dental implants, zirconium roundhouse bridges, motion artefacts and full-occlusion scans — and you're rethinking your career choice. We built Dent.AI so you don't have to.

Module 01 · Anatomic Modeler

One virtual patient. Every procedure.

AI segmentation of CBCT, fused with IOS soft-tissue scans, into a single realistic 3D model. No artefacts. No "magical" 2-hour segmentation sessions. Nothing — just a clear 3D virtual model of the patient's anatomy.

"Oh god, not another flashy AI start-up." Yes — but the kind built by a periodontologist who got tired of endless clicking through semi-automatic tools. Built to make your life easier and your patients happier.

02 — Dent.AI 3D GUIDE

A modular planning system. One virtual patient powers them all.

The Anatomic Modeler is the central hub. Every other module — implants, augmentation, periodontal surgery — plans on the same 3D model. It doesn't matter what type of surgery you're planning: implant placement, augmentation, sinus lift or periodontal regenerative surgery. All can be done on one model.

03 — How it's different

Three ways to place an implant. One you can do tomorrow.

Conventional

Static guide (legacy)

  • Dedicated per-brand surgical kit required
  • Metal sleeves shipped with the guide
  • Third-party fabrication · 5–10 day wait
  • Locked to one implant brand at a time
Hot take

Dynamic navigation

  • Expensive optical tracking hardware
  • Per-case calibration time
  • Steep learning curve for chair-side use
  • Six-figure hardware — still per-case setup
Dent.AI · UNI-Plan

Universal & print-on-site

  • Works with most major drill systems
  • 3D-printed sleeve inserts · no metal
  • Print in-office · operate the next day
  • Open format — dynamic nav drop-in later

Module 02 · UNI-Plan

Static guided implant placement?!?! Really?!?! In the age of dynamic navigation and robotic surgery?!?!

Well — yes. Many dentists still prefer the simplicity of static guides and don't invest in dynamic navigation systems (which, frankly, will eventually be replaced by robots anyway). And the open format of Dent.AI 3D GUIDE means we can integrate dynamic navigation later, when it makes sense. UNI-Plan is built for the dentists planning surgery on Monday, not the ones reading whitepapers.

Module 02 · UNI-Plan

A universal guide. No kit. No sleeves. No wait.

UNI-Plan is a universal guide system. It doesn't require a dedicated guided surgical kit from any implant brand. It doesn't need metal sleeves. And you don't wait for a third party to fabricate it — the entire guide is 3D-printable on site.

04 — The science

How accurate is it? Thanks for asking.

We've published in high-impact journals on the validation of our segmentation model. The accuracy claim isn't marketing — it's peer-reviewed.

05 — From the chair

Periodontologists already planning on Dent.AI.

I used to spend two hours per case in semi-automatic segmentation — endless clicking. Now I make a coffee and the model is ready before I'm back at my desk.

06 — Our story

It started with a single Google search.

The Dent.AI story began in 2019 with a simple vision: improve diagnostics in periodontology.

I (Daniel) was experimenting with methods for CBCT image segmentation when, through a single Google search, I met Csaba — a renowned expert in medical-imaging informatics and a core developer of the 3D Slicer platform.

What began as a research collaboration became Dent.AI Medical Imaging, and a few years later, Dent.AI 3D GUIDE. We're a Semmelweis University spin-off based in Budapest, with ongoing R&D partnerships across academia and industry.

07 — Common questions

Asked by clinics before they sign.

Don't see yours? Email hello@thedent.ai — a real human responds.

Which implant systems does UNI-Plan support?

Most major drill systems on the market — the guide is universal, so we don't ship a per-brand kit. If your system isn't on the compatibility list, we'll typically add it within 2–3 weeks.

What CBCT scanners are supported?

Anything that exports standard DICOM. We've validated against the major vendors (Carestream, Planmeca, Sirona, Vatech, Morita) and accept third-party exports.

Where is patient data stored?

Inside the EU. Dent.AI 3D GUIDE is GDPR-compliant, with on-prem deployment available for hospitals that require it.

How is accuracy validated?

Above 90% on lower-jaw segmentations in peer-reviewed studies (Clinical Oral Investigations, Journal of Dentistry, Journal of Periodontology, Int. J. of Implant Dentistry). Validation is ongoing as we expand to new anatomy.

What about dynamic navigation or robotic surgery?

Dent.AI 3D GUIDE has an open format. Clinics that already use dynamic navigation can keep doing so on top of our planning. UNI-Plan is one option, not the only one.

Is Dent.AI 3D GUIDE CE-marked?

Yes. ISO 13485 certification is in progress. We work with notified bodies in the EU and can share documentation under NDA.

How does pricing work?

Per-clinic subscription, with per-case overage. University and research partners get a free academic tier. Talk to us.
